Suicide Wildebeest

The crossing over the Talek river was an extremely chaotic affair, both for the photographers and the Wildebeest. There was many a leap of death and a couple of broken backs incurred, followed by a unique encounter between Hippo and Wildebeest. See here and here.

This photograph captures a Wildebeest as it leapt to it's ultimate death, breaking it's back as it landed in the river.
The encounter with the hippo will follow shortly.

I know some of you will want this in colour, but these photo's just have so much more drama in monochrome.
Focus as you see is also over-rated!
