This is the view taken from a pool right on the edge of the falls where you watch the water from the Zambezi river rush over the edge into the Batoka Gorge.
As long as the sun is out there is always a rainbow here!
You can swim in the pool during the dry season, which we did and it is the most mind-blowing experience I have ever had, to be sitting there on the edge of these magnificent falls, experiencing the breathtaking view, feeling the rush of the water, and relaxing in the cool waters!
Wow!

Mosi Oa Tunya - The Smoke That Thunders
The Victoria Falls at it's widest point is 1690 meters across. During the rainy seasons it discharges as many as 546 million liters or water over the edge each minute. (Although we were there during the dry season which afforded us the opportunity to go swimming in the Devils Armchair pool!)
David Livingstone renamed the falls after Queen Victoria on November 16, 1854 to the "Victoria Falls" whereas it was previously known as "Mosi Oa Tunya" (The Smoke That Thunders). The falls are approximately 110 meters in height.
